BPS Test User Ability & Personality

Refresher / Reaffirmation Route

The Refresher / Reaffirmation Route is designed for practitioners who have previously completed BPS Test User Ability and Personality training with Dr Michelle Hunter-Hill, but have experienced a delay in submitting their portfolio or registering their qualification.

Delays may occur for a range of reasons, including work pressures, illness, or other mitigating circumstances. This route provides structured support to help participants refresh key knowledge, reaffirm professional competence, rebuild confidence, and regain momentum towards completing their qualification.

This pathway is intended for individuals whose BPS Test User registration has lapsed or who are concerned about the validity or currency of their original training. It enables learners to refresh and evidence current competence in psychometric testing and professional practice, aligned with the latest BPS Test User standards.

What the Refresher / Reaffirmation Route involves

Participants will:

  • Submit their previous portfolio for review

  • Attend relevant elements of the scheduled taught course

  • Engage in developmental support activities, including:

    • The Psychometrics Café

    • Weekly live Q&A sessions

Assessment includes

  • A mini-viva

  • Practical assessments in test administration

  • Oral feedback delivery

This route is practice-focused, supporting learners to demonstrate ethical, competent, and confident test use.

Important note on BPS requirements

The British Psychological Society stipulates that qualifications must normally be registered within 12 months of training and assessment completion. This route is particularly relevant for those concerned about the validity or currency of their original qualification.
