About The OP Practice

At The OP Practice, we believe that every person has a unique story.
Every day we encounter people who think differently, communicate differently, make decisions differently and respond differently to change. These differences enrich our workplaces, classrooms and communities, yet they are also one of the greatest sources of misunderstanding, conflict and untapped potential.
Our purpose is to help people better understand themselves and others.
Drawing on occupational psychology, behavioural science and evidence-informed practice, we explore the psychological factors that influence behaviour, enabling individuals and organisations to build stronger relationships, more effective teams and healthier workplace cultures.
Because when we understand what lies beneath behaviour, we create environments where people can truly thrive.

Our Philosophy
Behaviour is only the visible expression of a much deeper story.
It is shaped by our personality, beliefs, values, identity, confidence, self-concept, experiences, culture, relationships and the environments in which we live and work.
Understanding behaviour therefore requires us to look beyond what people do and become curious about why they do it.
This philosophy underpins everything we do.
Whether we are supporting a student preparing for employment, coaching a senior leader, developing high-performing teams or helping organisations navigate change, our focus remains the same:
Helping people understand themselves. Helping people understand others.

Meet Our Founder
The OP Practice was founded by Dr Michelle Hunter-Hill, Chartered Psychologist, researcher, executive coach, author and developer of the Personality Styles Indicator (PSI).
Michelle's work brings together occupational psychology, personality psychology, coaching and organisational development to help individuals and organisations better understand the psychological processes that influence behaviour.
Her doctoral research, What Lies Beneath Organisational Behaviour: The Role of Hidden and Unconscious Processes at Work, explored how hidden psychological processes shape behaviour within organisations. This research continues to inform her work with universities, businesses and leaders across a range of sectors.
Michelle is also the author of:
