This seminat will focus on how our understanding of self and of others can help us to communicate more effectively and work with others more successfully. We call this our emotional intelligence, and it is argued that our EQ (emotional intelligence quotient) is more important than our IQ (intellectual intelligence) when it comes to working effectively with people, and being motivated at work.
In the seminar you will engage with activities which will help you to reflect on your current levels of emotional intelligence, and you will practice your emotional intelligence by applying it to a case study.
It is important that you complete the emotional intelligence questionnaire before you come to class so that you are aware of your strengths and weaknesses in each of the areas.
